How To Maintain Proper Grip Pressure For Every Golf Shot

It is interesting that a lot of players keep struggling with the inability to maintain a good grip pressure on the club, and for this reason they often end up struggling with getting the ball in the right direction. Something as simple as keeping your eyes on the target will go a long way in determining the effect that your stroke will have on the ball. However, it all comes to the grip that you hold.

If you hold the club loosely, there is a good chance that you will struggle. If you hold the club too tight, you will also struggle in the long run. Therefore you need to make sure that you focus on some of these things, so that when it’s all said and done, you are able to play the game properly.

Every shot has its own grip. You need to learn this, not by studying what other people do, but most importantly by trying to learn the best grip that works for you.

The following are some useful ideas that will help you maintain proper grip pressure for each and every golf shot that you make:

  • Lots of practice
  • Overlapping grip
  • Interlocking grip
  • Ten finger grip

Lots of practice

Before you start working on the grips, it is important that you try and put in a lot of practice on your skill. These are things that you will not master in a day, but will take time to perfect hence the need for lots of practice.

Overlapping grip

This is one of the important grips that you need to learn. In this case, you will have your lead hand on the handle, and then the other hand should have the pinky finger just between your index and middle finger on the leading hand.

Interlocking grip

The interlock is another one that you need to learn. In this case, you will grip all of your hands at the same time, over the handle of the club. In the event that you are one of the players who have small hands, this is an ideal option for you.

Ten finger grip

This is also referred to as the baseball grip. It is also one of the least preferred grips in the game so far, unless it is absolutely necessary. You will need to work hard while training for these, so that you can perfect the skill, and get the right pressure.
